HealthFund Solutions is a nonprofit board of healthcare professionals that works with hospital staff to connect uninsured patients with health plans that fit their needs. Ultimately this is a win-win for both the patients who cannot afford to pay out-of-pocket and the hospitals who would otherwise be forced to absorb the cost of treating them.

A brand overhaul and brochure website project for HFS was a unique challenge. Neither a healthcare organization nor a financial institution, HFS needed to be accessible to financial decision-makers and the patients they seek to aid. Eschewing the sterile corporate design language that often characterizes hospitals and financial institutions, we sought to tell a more inviting story.

The site needed to be warm, user-friendly, and professional without overwhelming users with industry jargon and hard sells. Imagery was primarily patient-focused, showing happy and healthy people living and recovering, rather than sitting in a hospital bed or dealing with finances.

The client requested that we create some sort of infographic to describe the win-win nature of their service. With that in mind, we crafted an interactive solution using animated SVG’s that encouraged the user to engage and be guided through the process, and scaled more effectively to smaller viewport sizes than a static infographic image.

A later iteration of the design included a partner login portal and custom CMS options that allowed administrators to make certain documents available for download based on the user’s organization affiliation.
